Welcome to Check-It! ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy describes how the Check-It! mobile application (the "App") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our services.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Your Name (Optional): During the initial onboarding experience, you may choose to provide your first name to personalize the App. This name is stored locally on your device and is used solely to display a personalized greeting. You may skip this step entirely.
Checklist Content: When you create, edit, or manage checklists, the content you enter is stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to external servers for storage purposes.
Text Prompts: When you use the checklist creation feature, the text prompts and follow-up answers you provide are sent to our server to generate personalized checklist suggestions. This data is processed in real time and is not permanently stored on our servers.
Voice Recordings (Optional): If you choose to use the voice input feature, the App will request access to your device's microphone. Voice recordings are temporarily captured, transmitted for transcription, and then discarded. We do not retain voice recordings after transcription is complete.
We do not collect your email address, phone number, physical address, precise geolocation, financial information, contacts, photos, or browsing history. We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data to third parties.
We use information to personalize your experience with your name, generate smart checklist suggestions from your text prompts, transcribe voice input into text, save your checklists locally for future use, and ensure app compatibility and stability.
Your name, checklists, and preferences are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. Server-processed data (text prompts and voice recordings) is transmitted securely via HTTPS and processed transiently — it is not permanently stored on our servers.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with service providers who process data on our behalf (for text generation and voice transcription), when required by law, or when you explicitly direct us to (such as sharing a checklist).
Since your data is stored locally, you have full control at all times. You can delete individual checklists within the App. To remove all data, uninstall the App or clear App data through your device settings. You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your device's Settings.
Check-It! is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, opt out of data sales (we do not sell data), and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
If you are in the EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and notify you through the App where appropriate.
